Raanan Katz has donated $45,000 to send 150 children
from the settlements around Gaza to Cyprus where the Israel National Basketball
Team is playing in the European Championship.
FIBA did not allow the
European teams to play in Israel because it considered Israel an unsafe place,
without justification. Raanan Katz commented that, "walking in Tel Aviv is much safer
than walking in many American cities."
